Domestic (Screen) Goddess

While we’re on the subject of film icons: in case you’ve been living under a rock, some newly discovered personal papers of Marilyn Monroe’s were published recently in a book called Fragments. Among those papers (in her diary, in fact, the publishing of which raises all kinds of issues regarding privacy and respecting the memory of an influential figure in popular culture) was an elaborate recipe for stuffing in the actress’ handwriting. The image of the sexpot with stirring spoon in hand has apparently captured the imagination of quite a few foodies and film buffs. The chefs of the New York Times food column recreated the stuffing from the–at times cryptic–recipe.
